Instagram can be a powerful tool for getting new eyes on your work. Used well, it helps artists build an enthusiastic audience for their work. But how to make best use of it?
Our guest speaker Dina Brodsky describes Instagram as a combination of website, mailing list and business card for your artist career.
Dina is a contemporary artist who has discovered how to make highly effective use of the Instagram platform. She uses it to put her art in front of a wide audience who are excited about her work. As she explains it, Instagram has completely changed her art career. While she grew her audience from 1000 followers to over 700K, she has gained a good understanding of how the platform works. She will share with us how we can best make the platform work for us, answering our question: “How do I get more people to see my work?”
Dina’s presentation for us is directed specifically at watercolour artists. She will discuss how to use hashtags to direct our posts to the people who most want to see the subjects we want to paint.
Dina’s advice prioritizes being efficient on Instagram. She will advise us on how to post quickly and then get back to the studio to make more art.
This event will be streamed live on Zoom. Furthermore, a recording will be available for 6 weeks after the event.

About Dina Brodsky
Dina Brodsky is a contemporary realist miniaturist, painter and curator. She was educated at University of Massachusetts Amherst and the New York Academy of Art, where she received her MFA. Dina lives and works in New York City. She has taught privately, and in several institutions including the Castle Hill Center for the Arts, the Long Island Academy of Fine Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. https://www.dinabrodsky.com/
